This is what we collect about you, what we do with it, and your rights to control it. We have tried to write this in plain English rather than legalese.
What we collect
Analytics. When you visit Tier5Shop, our analytics tool records: the page you’re on, where you came from, your approximate location (city level), your device type and browser. We do not record your name, email address, or other identifying information through analytics.
Newsletter subscribers. If you sign up for our newsletter, we store your email address. That’s it. We do not buy or sell email lists. We do not enrich your data from other sources.
Cookies. We use cookies for: keeping you logged in (if you have an account), remembering your newsletter signup, and analytics. You can disable cookies in your browser; some features will stop working if you do.
What we don’t collect
- We don’t track you across other sites.
- We don’t use behavioural advertising or remarketing.
- We don’t have a Facebook pixel or other social-media tracking installed.
- We don’t sell or rent any data to anyone, ever.
Affiliate links and third parties
When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (Amazon, brand sites, etc.) sees that you came from Tier5Shop and may set their own cookies. Their privacy policy governs that interaction, not ours.
Embedded content from third parties (YouTube videos in reviews, for example) loads from those services and may set cookies. We try to minimise embedded third-party content where we can.
Your rights
If you’re in the UK, EU, California, or another jurisdiction with comprehensive privacy law, you have the right to:
- Know what data we hold about you.
- Request a copy of that data.
- Ask us to correct or delete it.
- Withdraw consent (e.g., unsubscribe).
Email [email protected] with “PRIVACY” in the subject. We respond within 30 days as required by law, usually faster.
How we use your data
We use your email only for the newsletter you subscribed to. We use analytics only to understand which reviews are helpful and where readers come from. We do not sell, rent, or share your data.
Retention
Newsletter subscribers: while you are subscribed plus 90 days after unsubscribe (for re-confirmation if you re-subscribe). Analytics: aggregated permanently, individual session data 30 days. Contact emails: archived for two years for our records.
Changes to this policy
We will update this page if our practices change. Material changes will be flagged at the top of the page for 60 days.
